There's 2 points that must be addressed:

Firstly, the fact that sex qua sex should be sufficient to escape a condition of inceldom. Straight incels claim this is the case, but they're not consistent with this supposed axiom; if they were, they would have to consider virtually all incels as volcels, and therefore fakcels, because prostitution is a thing: pretty much anyone can hire a prostitute to lose his virginity; they retort by claiming that hiring a prostitute doesn't qualify, some of them even calling it a form of masturbation. But why is that? 
I think the answer is the lack of romantic desire, as the prostitute is only doing what she's doing, in the pursuit of something which has nothing to do with you, i.e.her own enrichment. She has no interest in doing what she's doing with you: you're perfectly fungible with any other customer. 
Let's take now the case of gay hookups: could one say there's any romantic desire in them? Maybe, but generally no, there's no romantic desire in a gay hookup with a total stranger who'll probably ghost you once he finishes up inside of you. The incels might say, that at least there's desire in a gay hookup, as the sexual partner chose you; but what kind of desire is that? it is desire for their own satisfaction, not desire for you: you're nothing but an improved fleshlight, a fungible cocksleeve; there's absolutely no interest in you beyond that which someone might have in a disposable sex toy. Can you really say you graduated inceldom if this is the closest thing you can get to a romantic relationship? I don't think so. 

Secondly, some gaycels might not even be able to achieve something like a hookup: I am one such example, as due to my Avoidant Personality Disorder (AvPD) I am literally unable to even set up a hookup, let alone showing up to one. I cannot even make friends, so I don't foresee ever being capable of finding a male partner. 
Some other might be so mentally ill and so repulsive, that the only hookup they could get may be some married old man, 3 times their age, and possibly get infected with AIDS. 

So not only it is demonstrably false to claim that all gaycels could easily hook up with a suitable partner, but even if that weren't the case, it's self evident how sex qua sex isn't by itself even sufficient to graduate inceldom.
So while the straight incels may have hypergamy to blame for their inability to find a partner, and it is a real and pervasive phenomenon, which has indeed doomed many young straight men to lifelong sexlessness but, most importantly, also loneliness, we gaycels have other problems, but which lead to the same effect: lifelong loneliness, never being actually desired, at best being someone's disposable sex toy. 
The causes for these issues aren't yet clear to me, as I have yet to explore the issue thoroughly, but I'm hoping new insights will result from this thread.
